Game Highlights
Game Review
The Melbourne Cricket Ground was buzzing with excitement as the Carlton Blues took on the Geelong Cats in Round 15 of the 2024 season. The Blues dominated the Cats with a final score of 138 to 75, leaving their fans ecstatic and the Cats' supporters disheartened. The atmosphere was electric, and the Blues delivered a performance that will be remembered for a long time. The first quarter saw the Carlton Blues come out swinging, quickly establishing their dominance. Tom De Koning opened the scoring with a goal at the 3-minute mark, and Charlie Curnow followed up with another just a minute later. By the 8th minute, Matthew Owies had added to the tally, putting the Blues ahead by 18 points. The Cats responded with goals from Zach Tuohy and Max Holmes, but the Blues were relentless. Alex Cincotta and Charlie Curnow added two more goals, and by the end of the quarter, the Blues led 33 to 14. The second quarter was a continuation of the Blues' onslaught. The Cats tried to close the gap with early goals from Oliver Dempsey and Jeremy Cameron, but the Blues had other plans. Harry McKay, Charlie Curnow, and Blake Acres each found the back of the net, extending their lead. Matthew Owies was particularly impressive, scoring twice in quick succession. By halftime, the Blues had a commanding lead of 71 to 35. The third quarter saw the Blues consolidating their lead. Alex Cincotta scored early, and despite some resistance from the Cats with goals from Sam De Koning and Gary Rohan, the Blues remained in control. The Cats' Jeremy Cameron was a standout, but his efforts were not enough to turn the tide. The Blues led 83 to 56 at the end of the third quarter, with their fans sensing an inevitable victory. ...
