Game Review
Round 11 of the 2024 AFL season saw the North Melbourne Kangaroos host the Port Adelaide Power at Blundstone Arena. The final score was a decisive 107-48 in favor of Port Adelaide, leaving the home crowd with little to cheer about as the Power dominated from start to finish. The first quarter was a lively affair, with both teams coming out with guns blazing. Port Adelaide's Kane Farrell opened the scoring with a goal in just the third minute. North Melbourne responded quickly, with Tom Powell scoring a goal at the six-minute mark to bring the scores close. However, Port Adelaide's Zak Butters and Todd Marshall soon added to their tally, giving the Power a slight edge. By the end of the quarter, Port Adelaide led 32-21, thanks to a late surge with goals from Butters and Mitchell Georgiades. The second quarter saw Port Adelaide pulling further ahead. Jason Horne-Francis capped off the quarter with a goal, leaving Port Adelaide comfortably ahead at 47-27 by halftime. Jed McEntee and Darcy Byrne-Jones also found the goals, adding to North Melbourne's woes. The Kangaroos managed only one goal through Zane Duursma, and by the end of the quarter, the Power had surged to an 88-35 lead. In the final quarter, it was clear that North Melbourne had little left in the tank. Luke Davies-Uniacke scored an early goal, but the Power responded with goals from Mitchell Georgiades and Oliver Wines. Cameron Zurhaar managed a late consolation goal for the Kangaroos, but Todd ...
