Will Johnson - Player Bio
Will Johnson, born on 26 October 1989, is a talented Australian rules footballer known for his exceptional skills as a defender. Starting his football journey with the Collegians Football Club in the Victorian Amateur Football Association, Johnson later transitioned to the Sandringham Zebras in the Victorian Football League (VFL). His remarkable performance caught the attention of the St Kilda Football Club, which drafted him in the 2009 AFL draft. Johnson's defensive play style has drawn comparisons to the likes of former Geelong backman, Matthew Egan, showcasing his prowess on the field. Although Johnson only played one senior game for St Kilda before being delisted after the 2011 AFL season, he did not let this setback deter his passion for the game. He then joined the Box Hill Hawks in the VFL, where he showcased his skills in 17 senior games over two years. In 2014, Johnson made a significant move to the stand-alone VFL club Port Melbourne, making an impactful start to the season with five goals and a stellar best on ground performance. Standing at 191 cm (6 ft 3 in) and weighing 91 kg (201 lb), Johnson's dedication and resilience have been evident throughout his football career, making him a player to watch on the field.
