Viv Michie - Player Bio
Viv Michie, a former professional Australian rules footballer, made his mark on the field playing for both the Fremantle Football Club and the Melbourne Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Hailing from the Fitzroy Juniors and Oakleigh Chargers in the TAC Cup, Michie's talent and agility were evident early on. His skills were showcased when he represented Victoria Metro at the 2010 AFL Under 18 Championships. Despite facing challenges with stress fractures in his right foot during his initial years with Fremantle, Michie's determination and hard work paid off when he debuted for the club in Round 14 of the 2013 AFL season. His impressive performances for Peel Thunder in the West Australian Football League (WAFL) earned him recognition, including the best and fairest award in 2013. Following a trade to the Melbourne Football Club in 2013, Michie continued to showcase his prowess as a midfielder. Despite being delisted by Melbourne in 2015, he bounced back and was re-drafted in the 2016 rookie draft. However, at the end of the 2016 season, Michie faced another delisting by Melbourne. Throughout his career, Viv Michie's dedication to the game and his ability to overcome obstacles exemplify the resilience and passion required to succeed in the competitive world of Australian football.
