Sam Skinner - Player Bio
Sam Skinner, a skilled Australian rules footballer, has made his mark in the Australian Football League (AFL) playing for both the Brisbane Lions and the Port Adelaide Football Club. Born on June 29, 1997, Skinner entered the AFL scene when he was drafted by Brisbane with pick 47 in the 2015 national draft. His debut in the AFL came during the 2017 season, where he showcased his talent by scoring two goals in a match against West Coast at Subiaco Oval in round 19. Despite his promising start, Skinner faced challenges and was delisted by the Brisbane Lions at the end of the 2020 season. However, Skinner's determination and skills did not go unnoticed. After an outstanding performance with South Adelaide in the SANFL, he caught the attention of Port Adelaide, who signed him as a delisted free agent for the 2022 AFL season. Skinner had the opportunity to play two games with Port Adelaide before being delisted once again in August. Standing tall at 197 cm (6 ft 6 in) and weighing 94 kg (207 lb), Skinner is a versatile player known for his contributions as a centre half-back and half-forward. Despite facing setbacks in his career, Skinner's resilience and talent continue to make him a valuable asset in the world of Australian football.
