Sam Reid, born on 27 December 1991, is a prominent figure in the Australian Football League (AFL) as a key forward/ruckman for the Sydney Swans. Coming from a strong football lineage, Reid was drafted by Sydney with the 38th pick in the 2009 AFL draft, following in the footsteps of his grandfather, father, and uncle, all distinguished players in their own right. Making his debut in Round 22 of the 2010 season against the Brisbane Lions, Reid showcased his skills with 13 disposals, 8 marks, and a goal, hinting at the promising career that lay ahead. The following year, in 2011, Reid's athleticism and ability to take contested marks stood out as he consistently impressed in the challenging role of centre half-forward.
