Quinten Lynch - Player Bio
Quinten Peter Lynch, affectionately known as "Big Q," "Q-Stick," "The Big Unit," or "TBU," is a retired Australian rules footballer who left an indelible mark on the field. Born on January 24, 1983, in the rural farming community of Grass Patch near Esperance, Western Australia, Lynch's journey to success began at the West Perth Football Club in the West Australian Football League (WAFL). With his versatility and skill set, Lynch caught the eye of the West Coast Eagles, who drafted him with the 19th overall pick in the 2002 Rookie Draft. Initially starting as a defender, Lynch showcased his adaptability by transitioning to the forward line, where he thrived. He played a pivotal role in West Coast's 2006 premiership victory and topped the team's goalkicking in both 2006 and 2007. His exceptional performances didn't go unnoticed, as Lynch clinched second place in the club's best and fairest award in 2008. After amassing an impressive 209 games for West Coast, Lynch bid farewell to the club at the end of the 2012 season. Embracing the challenge of change, Lynch embraced the newly introduced free agency rules and joined the Collingwood Football Club for the 2013 and 2014 seasons. Standing tall at 192 cm (6 ft 4 in) and weighing 103 kg (227 lb), Lynch's impact on the field went beyond statistics; his leadership and determination left a lasting legacy in Australian Football.
