Murray Newman - Player Bio
Murray Newman, a talented Australian rules footballer, hails from Perth, Western Australia. He began his football journey with the Swan Districts Football Club in the West Australian Football League (WAFL) before catching the eye of the selectors in the 2011 AFL National Draft. Newman's skills on the field were evident as he represented Western Australia at the 2011 AFL Under 18 Championships and played 19 games for Swan Districts. Newman's big break came in the 2012 AFL season when he made his senior debut for the West Coast Eagles in Round 14. In a match against the Gold Coast Suns at Patersons Stadium, Newman showcased his talent by scoring two goals in his debut game. However, his career faced a setback after the 2012 season when he was involved in an off-field incident outside a nightclub, leading to his delisting in October 2015. Standing at 179 cm and weighing 70 kg, Newman primarily played as a forward pocket and midfielder during his time with West Coast Eagles. Despite his career taking a different turn, Newman's impact on the field during his time with the Eagles is remembered by fans and enthusiasts of Australian football.
