Hailing from Geelong, Victoria, Ling's journey in the AFL began when he was selected as the 14th draft pick by the Sydney Swans in 2017. Standing at a height of 184 cm and weighing 79 kg, Ling primarily plays as a defender, showcasing his skills and prowess on the field. His debut match took place on 25 July 2020, where Sydney faced Hawthorn at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
