Matthew Dick - Player Bio
Matthew Dick, a former professional Australian rules footballer, began his journey in the AFL when he was drafted by the Sydney team in the third round of the 2012 National Draft. Despite his time with Sydney, he did not secure a senior game and was eventually delisted. However, his career took a turn when he was picked up by the Carlton Football Club as a delisted free agent during the 2014 free agency period. Making his debut for Carlton against St Kilda in Round 4 of the 2015 season, Dick showcased his skills and dedication on the field. Throughout his debut season with the club, he played a total of six senior games, proving his worth as a valuable asset to the team. His versatility as a defender and midfielder allowed him to contribute effectively in different positions on the field. Despite his initial success with Carlton, Dick faced a setback in August 2016 when he was delisted from the club. Nevertheless, his time in the AFL left a mark, highlighting his commitment to the sport and his ability to adapt to the demands of professional football. With a height of 187 cm (6 ft 2 in) and a weight of 90 kg (198 lb), Matthew Dick's presence on the field was notable, and his contributions to Carlton during his tenure did not go unnoticed. Although his professional career may have come to an end, his impact on the game serves as a testament to his passion for Australian rules football.
