Matthew De Boer, a skilled Australian rules footballer, began his career by representing Western Australia at the 2008 AFL Under 18 Championships and earning a spot in the under 18 All-Australian team. His talent didn't go unnoticed, and he was drafted by the Fremantle Football Club in the 2009 rookie draft as the 19th overall selection. De Boer quickly proved his worth during the 2009 pre-season, leading to his promotion to Fremantle's senior list as a nominated rookie. His AFL debut came in round 6 of the 2009 season, where he showcased his abilities in a match against the West Coast Eagles. After a successful tenure at Fremantle, De Boer transitioned to the Greater Western Sydney Giants in 2016, following his drafting in the AFL draft. During his time with the Giants, De Boer gained recognition for his exceptional defensive skills, notably shutting down renowned players like Dustin Martin, the 2017 Brownlow Medallist.
