Marcus's outstanding performance led him to represent Tasmania at the 2009 AFL Under 18 Championships, earning recognition for his remarkable endurance at the Draft Camp. In the 2009 AFL National draft, Marcus was selected by the Carlton Football Club as the 43rd overall pick. He made his senior debut for Carlton in 2010, marking the beginning of a successful career in the AFL. Throughout his time with Carlton, Marcus played a total of 13 games, showcasing his talent and dedication to the sport. After his stint with Carlton, Marcus continued to excel in the VFL, representing clubs like Port Melbourne Football Club before joining the Tigers FC (Kingborough) in the Tasmanian State League in 2015.
