Liam Baker - Player Bio
Liam Baker, affectionately known as "Bakes", was born on January 27, 1998. He is a talented Australian rules footballer who currently showcases his skills for the Richmond Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Baker's journey to the professional league was marked by his outstanding performance in junior representative football with West Perth in the WAFL. Despite going undrafted in 2016, Liam Baker continued to hone his craft by playing senior WAFL football with Subiaco. His perseverance and dedication paid off when he was drafted by the Richmond Tigers in the 2018 rookie draft. Baker made his AFL debut in round 19 of the same year, demonstrating his prowess as both a defender and midfielder. Baker's hard work culminated in him becoming an AFL premiership player with Richmond in both 2019 and 2020. His impressive skills on the field did not go unnoticed, as he was named in the AFL's 22Under22 team in 2020, recognizing him as one of the league's best young talents. In 2022, Liam Baker's courage and tenacity were acknowledged when he was presented with the AFLPA Most Courageous in the AFL award. The prestigious award was handed to him by the Richmond Football Club's captain, Dylan Grimes, in the presence of Patrick Dangerfield, further solidifying Baker's reputation as a formidable force in the AFL.
