Hailing from Morningside in Queensland, Spurr's talent was evident early on as he played a vital role in securing two premierships for Central District in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL). Spurr's journey to the AFL began when he was drafted by Fremantle with the eighth selection in the 2012 Rookie Draft. Prior to this, he had already showcased his skills in South Australia, accumulating 66 games over five seasons. His outstanding performances for Peel Thunder in the West Australian Football League (WAFL) caught the attention of the selectors, leading to his elevation to the senior playing list. Making his debut in round 6 of the 2012 AFL season against Gold Coast, Spurr proved his worth as a versatile utility player. His ability to adapt to different positions on the field, particularly as a defender, set him apart from his peers. Throughout his career, Spurr consistently demonstrated dedication, resilience, and a strong work ethic. After contributing significantly to Fremantle's defensive line for seven seasons, Lee Spurr bid farewell to AFL football at the conclusion of the 2018 season. His legacy as a committed player and team asset continues to inspire aspiring footballers and fans alike.
