Justin Sherman - Player Bio
Justin Sherman, a skilled Australian rules footballer, has left an indelible mark on the field throughout his career. Born on January 26, 1987, Sherman began his professional journey after being selected as the number 45 draft pick in the 2004 AFL draft from Clarence. Making his debut for the Brisbane Lions in round 4 of 2005 against Hawthorn, Sherman swiftly proved his worth. In just his second AFL season, he impressed by clinching the runner-up spot in the Brisbane Lions best and fairest award. Known for his versatility, Sherman predominantly played as a midfielder but showcased his adaptability by excelling in various positions, including the forward pocket and short deep half-forward and half backline. In a significant move in October 2010, Sherman transitioned to the Western Bulldogs, bringing his exceptional talent to a new arena. Despite facing challenges, including a racial vilification incident during a match against Gold Coast in June 2011, Sherman demonstrated resilience by apologizing and engaging in community programs to make amends. Fast forward to 2018, Sherman assumed the role of Captain/Coach at the Laurimar Football Club in the Northern Football Netball League, further solidifying his commitment to the sport and leadership capabilities. With a career defined by skill, adaptability, and a dedication to growth both on and off the field, Justin Sherman continues to inspire fans and aspiring athletes alike.
