Born on July 3, 1997, Schoenfeld began his professional journey with the Gold Coast Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL) after being drafted as the thirty-fourth overall pick in the 2015 national draft. His debut in the AFL came in a thrilling twenty-four point victory against Fremantle in round 18 of the 2016 season at the iconic Metricon Stadium. Schoenfeld showcased his scoring abilities by kicking his first goal in a match against the Brisbane Lions during Round 1 of the 2017 season, further solidifying his presence on the field.
