Joshua Begley - Player Bio
Joshua Begley, affectionately known as "Fridge," is a talented Australian rules footballer who has left a mark in the sport. Born on July 3, 1998, Begley was drafted by the Essendon Football Club with the 31st overall selection in the 2016 national draft. Making his debut in round 22 of the 2017 AFL season, Begley showcased his skills by recording an impressive performance. In his debut match against Gold Coast at Metricon Stadium, he managed to amass thirteen disposals, seven marks, two goals, and three goal assists, contributing significantly to a thirty-three point win. Despite facing challenges, Begley continued to display his prowess on the field. He remained in the team for the final game of the season and even played in Essendon's elimination final against Sydney, where he scored two goals. Following the 2020 AFL season, Begley faced a new chapter in his career when he was not offered a new contract by Essendon and was subsequently delisted from the club. However, he didn't let this setback deter his passion for the game. With his versatility as a forward and midfielder, Begley continues to impress fans with his on-field abilities and commitment to the sport, solidifying his position as a respected figure in Australian rules football.
