Jarrod Pickett - Player Bio
Jarrod Pickett, born on August 18, 1996, is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Carlton Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He began his professional career after being drafted by the Greater Western Sydney Giants as the fourth overall pick in the 2014 national draft. However, despite his talent, he did not manage to secure a senior match during his two seasons with the Giants. In 2016, Pickett made a move to Carlton during the trade period. He marked his debut in a match against Richmond in the opening round of the 2017 season at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground. Over the following two seasons, Pickett showcased his skills in 17 games for Carlton, primarily playing as a forward and midfielder. Unfortunately, his progress was hindered by injuries towards the end of the 2018 season. On June 11, 2019, Carlton made the decision to release Pickett from his contract. Despite his time in the AFL being cut short, Pickett's contributions to both the Greater Western Sydney Giants and Carlton Football Club have left a lasting impression on the league.
