Jake Batchelor, a seasoned Australian rules footballer, commenced his professional career with the Richmond Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Hailing from Victoria, Batchelor honed his skills at the Frankston Rovers before progressing to the Dandenong Stingrays in the TAC Cup. In the 2010 AFL draft, Batchelor was handpicked by Richmond as the 30th overall selection, marking the inception of his fruitful journey with the club. His debut AFL appearance transpired in round 1 of the 2011 season, where he showcased his prowess against Carlton at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). Acknowledged for his exceptional performance, Batchelor garnered a nomination for the prestigious NAB AFL Rising Star award following an impressive display by the end of round 16 in 2011. Throughout his seven-year tenure at Richmond, he exhibited unwavering dedication, participating in a total of 84 matches before bidding farewell to the club at the culmination of the 2017 AFL season. Post his tenure at Richmond, Batchelor embarked on a new chapter in his career, assuming the role of a playing assistant coach with the Frankston Dolphins in the VFL in 2018.
