Dylan Addison - Player Bio
Dylan Addison, a former professional Australian rules footballer, made his mark on the field playing for the Western Bulldogs and later the Greater Western Sydney Giants in the Australian Football League (AFL). Hailing from the south-west Sydney suburb of Picnic Point, Addison's journey into the AFL began when he was drafted as the 27th overall selection by the Western Bulldogs in the 2005 national draft. Known affectionately as "DFA" by fans, Addison's early career showcased his versatility, playing as a medium forward or on the ball under the guidance of head coach Rodney Eade. Despite his hard-hitting style of play, Addison faced scrutiny over his disposal efficiency, a skill that impacted his consistency in the Bulldogs' lineup from 2006 to 2011. However, with a change in coaching style under Brendan McCartney in 2011, Addison found his stride, becoming a mainstay in the Bulldogs' team in 2012. His dedication and commitment to winning the contested football earned him respect among teammates and fans alike. After playing 88 AFL games for the Western Bulldogs, Addison transitioned to the Greater Western Sydney Giants as a delisted free agent in 2014. His career came to a close in October 2015, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and determination on the field. Dylan Addison's story serves as a testament to the resilience and adaptability required to succeed in the competitive world of Australian rules football, leaving a lasting impact on the teams he represented throughout his career.
