Campbell Brown - Player Bio
Campbell Brown, born on 28 August 1983 in Perth, Australia, is a former Australian rules footballer known for his time playing for the Hawthorn Football Club and the Gold Coast Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Standing at 177 cm (5 ft 10 in) and weighing 83 kg (183 lb), Brown made his AFL debut in Round 11, 2002, for Hawthorn against Adelaide at Football Park. During his career, Brown was a key player for Hawthorn, contributing to their 2008 AFL Grand Final premiership victory. However, his time in the AFL came to an unexpected end in 2014 when he was dismissed from the Gold Coast Football Club due to an off-field incident involving a teammate during the pre-season. Prior to his AFL career, Brown played for the Oakleigh Chargers in the TAC Cup and was drafted at No. 32 in the 2001 national draft. Throughout his career, he primarily played as a defender, showcasing his skills and tenacity on the field. Aside from his achievements in the AFL, Campbell Brown also represented Victoria and Australia in football. Currently, he serves as the captain of the Australian national Kabaddi team, leading them in the 2016 Kabaddi World Cup in the Standard style.
