Brett Goodes - Player Bio
Brett Goodes, a former professional Australian rules footballer, made his mark playing for the Western Bulldogs in the Australian Football League (AFL). Born on February 17, 1984, Goodes hails from a footballing family, being the younger brother of Sydney Swans dual Brownlow Medalist Adam Goodes. Before his AFL career, Goodes showcased his skills with North Ballarat in the Victorian Football League (VFL) and NT Thunder in the Queensland Australian Football League (QAFL). His talent and dedication led him to a role with the Western Bulldogs as a player development manager, where he also played for the Bulldogs' VFL reserves squad at Williamstown. During his time at Williamstown, Goodes displayed exceptional performance, playing 40 games and scoring 27 goals between 2011 and 2012. He notably stood out in the 2011 VFL grand final, despite the team's loss to Port Melbourne. His remarkable contributions earned him third place in the Club's best and fairest award for both seasons, with a highlight being awarded the best player in the finals in 2011. In 2013, Goodes received a well-deserved opportunity to train with the Bulldogs' senior team and was ultimately selected by the club with their first draft pick in the 2013 Rookie Draft. Standing tall at 183 cm and weighing 89 kg, Goodes brought his passion and expertise to the Western Bulldogs from 2013 to 2015, leaving a lasting impact on the field.
