Brad Walsh - Player Bio
Brad Walsh, a former professional Australian rules footballer, showcased his skills as a solid inside midfielder during his time with the Carlton Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Hailing from Rockingham, Walsh began his football journey playing colts (under-19) football for Peel Thunder. Even as a teenager in 2013 and 2014, he impressed by playing several senior games for Peel. Known for his onfield leadership qualities from a young age, Walsh captained Western Australia at the 2014 AFL Under 18 Championships, highlighting his exceptional leadership abilities. Not only excelling in football, but he also represented Western Australia in basketball during his junior years, demonstrating his versatility in sports. In 2015, Carlton recognized Walsh's talent and recruited him in the second round of the Rookie Draft (pick No. 24 overall). Throughout the season, he predominantly played for Carlton's VFL-affiliate, the Northern Blues. His outstanding performance earned him the VFL club's best and fairest award for the season. Walsh made his AFL debut in Round 16 of the same year, playing three senior games. Despite his promising start, Walsh was delisted in October 2015. His contribution to the team and his dedication to the sport left a mark on the AFL community during his time with Carlton.
