Ben Sinclair - Player Bio
Ben Sinclair, a former Australian rules footballer, made his mark playing for the Collingwood Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Known for his lightning speed and agility, Sinclair's talent was evident early on when he represented Vic Metro at the 2009 AFL National Under 18 Championships. Hailing from a football family, Sinclair followed in the footsteps of his father, Peter Sinclair, who played for Melbourne in the late 1960s. Additionally, his half-brother, Will Slade, also had a successful football career with Geelong in the early 2000s. Sinclair's career took off when he was drafted as the 62nd selection in the 2009 AFL Draft from the Oakleigh Chargers in the TAC Cup. His standout performance in Round 11 of the 2012 AFL season earned him the prestigious AFL Rising Star nomination after a stellar game where he kicked three goals and showcased his exceptional skills against Melbourne in the Queen's Birthday clash. After dedicating seven years to the AFL, Sinclair decided to retire from professional football at the end of the 2017 season, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, determination, and impressive gameplay. Standing at 181 cm and weighing 76 kg, Sinclair's impact on the field will not be forgotten by fans and teammates alike.
