Standing tall at 194 cm (6 ft 4 in) and weighing 96 kg (212 lb), Rance primarily played as a fullback, showcasing his defensive prowess and strategic abilities on the field. He commenced his AFL journey in 2009, debuting for Richmond in a game against Geelong at Kardinia Park during Round 2.
