Adam Kennedy - Player Bio
Adam Kennedy, a seasoned midfielder for the Greater Western Sydney Giants in the Australian Football League (AFL), has had a rollercoaster journey throughout his AFL career. Born on July 12, 1992, Kennedy was recruited from the Western Jets in the TAC Cup before the 2011 AFL Draft, becoming one of the initial selections for the newly established club. Making his AFL debut in Round 1 of the 2012 season against Sydney, Kennedy showcased his skills and dedication from the start. He played a pivotal role in the GWS NEAFL team's Grand Final victory in 2016, demonstrating his versatility and commitment to the sport. Despite his talent, Kennedy has faced numerous setbacks due to injuries, earning him the nickname 'Crusket Man,' inspired by a brand of soft biscuits. He underwent a knee reconstruction on his left knee in 2017 and later required a shoulder reconstruction in 2021, highlighting his resilience and determination to overcome adversity. Unfortunately, in a match against the Brisbane Lions at Manuka Oval in April 2023, Kennedy suffered a ruptured ACL in his right knee, leading to his exclusion from the remainder of the 2023 season. Despite these challenges, Kennedy's passion for the game and unwavering spirit continue to inspire both his teammates and fans alike.
