Aaron Sandilands, a towering figure in Australian football, made a significant impact during his career with the Fremantle Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Standing at an impressive 211 cm (6 ft 11 in) and weighing 120 kg (265 lb) at his peak, he established himself as one of the tallest and heaviest players to grace the AFL field. Hailing from Mount Barker, Western Australia, Sandilands began his football journey with the East Fremantle Football Club in the West Australian Football League (WAFL). His talent and potential were soon recognized, leading to him being rookie listed by Fremantle in the 2002 Rookie Draft. Following his promotion from the rookie list at the end of the 2002 season, Sandilands made his mark by debuting for Fremantle in the opening round of the 2003 season. Primarily known for his prowess as a ruckman, Sandilands dominated the field with his exceptional skills and strategic gameplay. His contributions did not go unnoticed, as evidenced by his three consecutive selections in the All-Australian team from 2008 to 2010, with a subsequent inclusion in 2014. Furthermore, he clinched the prestigious Doig Medal twice, recognizing him as Fremantle's best and fairest player in 2009 and 2015.
